Historically discussed and demonized until it was even blessed. It stimulates the central nervous system, promotes digestion, helps to consume more energy, improves performance, reduces the risk of type 2 diabetes, tumours and cardiovascular diseases. Prevents Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s. It is always present in diets. What are we talking about? Coffee, of course!
And what benefits does beauty get from the black powder? Yes, because there are irrefutable beauty pluses.
Caffeine has several superpowers, allies of our aesthetic appearance: it is a base for fighting cellulite – which most creams use – because it stimulates blood flow and circulation, promoting the drainage of excess water present in the cells. It has a hydrating power, is a strong antioxidant, has a great exfoliating capacity, and as if that were not enough, it firms, decongests.
In addition, the caffeine used in cosmetics has no contraindications, because absorption through the skin does not have exciting effects on the body.
Antistress coffee mask
Combine the grounds of a moka pot with two beaten egg whites, apply to clean skin and leave for 10 minutes. Remove with warm water, pat dry to close pores and apply your moisturizer.
Regen coffee mask
Mix a teaspoon of coffee grounds, a teaspoon of honey and a teaspoon of olive oil in a bowl. The mixture must be smooth and not too liquid because otherwise it will not remain compact on the skin. Apply to face and neck with movements from bottom to top. Leave on for 10/15 minutes and remove the mixture with a cloth dampened with warm water. The skin will be smooth and soft, thanks to the hydrating effect of the oil and the nourishing effect of the honey and it is not necessary to apply creams.
Regen coffee eye mask
Combine a teaspoon of coffee grounds with a teaspoon of virgin coconut oil. Obtain a smooth mixture and apply following the contour well. Leave on for 10 minutes. While the coffee acts as a stimulant on the microcirculation, the coconut oil has an elasticizing function. Remove gently.
Body coffee scrub
Combine equal amounts of coffee grounds and sea salt in a bowl, add olive oil to give consistency to the mixture. Wet the skin slightly and apply the mixture with energetic and circular movements on thighs, buttocks, hips, abdomen, massaging and leaving to act for a few minutes. Rinse with the shower jet, at the end alternate jets of hot and cold water. The coffee repairs and rejuvenates, the salt exfoliates the skin removing dead cells and drains, while the olive oil hydrates.
Clear coffee hand mask
Combine a tablespoon of coffee powder, a tablespoon of turmeric and a tablespoon of yogurt in a bowl and mix until you get a smooth paste. Apply it to your hands, leave it on for about 20 minutes and rinse with warm water. Pat dry well and finish with a moisturizer.
Hair coffee mask
Unisci 2 cucchiai di olio di oliva e un cucchiaio di polvere di caffè fino ad ottenere una miscela compatta. Distribuisci sul cuoio capelluto e sulle lunghezze, lascia in posa 15/20 minuti e risciacqua. I capelli saranno morbidi e lucenti. NB. Questa maschera è consigliata a chi ha i capelli scuri e non trattati, perché il caffè ha proprietà coloranti.
Beauty tips extra
If you choose to use ground coffee for your scrub, and not coffee grounds, know that it can be stored. All you need is an airtight jar and you will find it ready.
To simply purify your hands, all you need is some ground coffee and a dab of neutral soap. Wash them normally, rubbing them carefully one on the other to obtain clean, soft skin. Do the same if you need to eliminate pungent odors such as garlic, onion or fish. Coffee is also great for this!
And at this point: happy coffee beauty routine!
